How to Withdraw from the Farm Land Identification Program

Withdrawal from the Farm Land Identification Program and the Registry of Agricultural Land under the Agricultural Land Protection and Development Act is voluntary. The owner may withdraw the property at any time by completing and signing a form available from the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture. The form must be mailed to the address on the form. When an owner requests withdrawal of real property, all property described by the parcel identifier (PID) assessed under a property account number (PAN) will be removed from the program(s).

Owners should seriously consider the consequences of withdrawal prior to signing the form. Upon withdrawal from the Farm Land Identification Program, the owner is responsible for the repayment of all deferred taxes and penalties due and payable on the account. The use of any real property which is registered under the Registry of Agricultural Land under the Agricultural Land Protection and Development Act may be limited by zoning regulations administered by the local planning authority.
