Public Health

Public health services are delivered through the province's seven health regions, administered by Regional Medical Officers of Health. A Chief Medical Officer of Health oversees the development of policy and regulations, and provides medical operational support to the regional Medical Officers of Health.

Public Health Services support healthy growth and development, foster healthy lifestyles, control communicable diseases, and protect the public from adverse health consequences of exposure to chemical, physical and biological agents.
