Aeronautical and Technical Services Division Cartographic Imaging Service
To meet rapid changes, imaging teams are involved in researching, evaluating and implementing innovative imaging systems/equipment, processes and procedures by maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of developments and trends in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing and other converging technologies.
Cartographic Imaging also collaborates and provides technical advisory services to government-client/partner, stakeholder and supplier organizations on mapping, charting or scientific projects and negotiates joint venture agreements with national/international organizations.
Development teams establish technical standards, specifications and processes and monitor the application of a quality management system to improve the acquisition and maintenance of digital data.
In 1998, Cartographic Imaging was accredited with ISO 9001 and, as part of Aeronautical and Technical Services Division, is a recipient of the 2000 Canada Award for Excellence from the National Quality Institute.
