Globe 2006
Since 1997, Globe has held a biennial conference and global marketplace for environmental innovation in Vancouver. Globe 2006 took place March 29–31, 2006.
Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) has promoted many initiatives at this event, including the following:
- the development and deployment of clean energy technologies;
- ways to save money while improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions;
- national and international energy research and development activities, including a pilot project in partnership with Industry Canada and the governments of British Columbia and Yukon to provide customized lists of permits, licenses and required approvals from all levels of government for business activities;
- tools to provide unique and extensive access to Canada's environmental energy sector and up-to-date information on international climate change initiatives; and
- sustainable building programs, services, activities, research and development projects as well as financial incentives.
