![]() ![]() Natural Resources Canada Challenge X Featured at Natural Resources Canada's Science FunFestOttawa — On Sunday, October 15, 2006, Mr. Royal Galipeau, M.P. for OttawaOrléans, will be hosting a media luncheon for students of the Challenge X university competition and representatives of General Motors and the U.S. Department of Energy. The luncheon will take place at Natural Resources Canada's (NRCan) Science FunFest being held during National Science and Technology Week. Students will be available for media interviews after the luncheon. This competition challenges teams of engineering students from 17 of North America's top universities to re-engineer a stock Chevrolet Equinox to improve fuel efficiency and lower greenhouse gas emissions. Two Challenge X vehicles from previous years will be on display. NRCan's Science FunFest is a day-long adventure for kids and their families, where they can learn about the importance and fun of science. This year, among other things, they can bring in rocks and fossils for identification, examine energy-efficient automobiles and even take part in a chocolate chip mining expedition.
