Gas hydrates - Fuel of the future? Mallik 2002
The Mallik 2002 Gas Hydrate Research Well Program was a multi-million dollar collaborative project to study Arctic natural gas hydrates in the Mackenzie Delta of northwestern Canada. NRCan was part of the international consortium of international partners conducting this research, which included:
- Natural Resources Canada
- Japan National Oil Corporation (now Japan Oil Gas and Metals National Corporation)
- A Canadian Industry group (shared by BP Canada Energy Company, Chevron Texaco Canada, Ltd., Burlington Resources Canada Energy Ltd.)
- United States Geological Survey
- United States Department of Energy
- GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam, Germany
- India (shared by Gas Authority of India Ltd. and Oil and Natural Gas Company Ltd.)
- the International Continental Drilling Program (ICDP)
