The Great Lakes Forestry Centre Arboretum

The Great Lakes Forestry Centre ArboretumSometimes referred to as a living library of trees, an arboretum can be described as a collection of trees, identified and labeled as to species to provide enjoyment, relaxation, and education. The identification labels allow visitors to use the collection as a reference when making comparisons with trees in other locations, or simply to identify the many species of trees they encounter in the arboretum. An arboretum is also a park—a place to relax in pleasant surroundings, and enjoy a garden-like setting. In addition to its public and recreational aspects, the GLFC Arboretum also provides foliage for insect rearing and plant material for experimental purposes.
