Q How are transgenic trees made?

A Transgenic trees are produced by the process known as Recombinant DNA Technology. This technology is analogous to editing a document on your computer. For example, a gene of particular interest could be "cut" from a bacterium's DNA strand and then "pasted" into the DNA of a plant cell. This technology is highly specific and allows desirable traits of one organism to be introduced into different organisms.
