CHANGES IN COPYRIGHT ACT AFFECT DOCUMENT DELIVERY SERVICE

Recent changes in the Copyright Act and the Canadian Government Reprography Licence require charging royalty fees to certain clients for document delivery.

To see if you are affected, please read below.

The procedures that the Energy, Minerals and Metals Information Centre (EMMIC) would be required to put in place to do this would be extremely cumbersome and time consuming. As a result, the EMMIC is no longer able to provide document delivery services to an organization unless the following conditions apply:

1. You are a library as defined in the Copyright Act ( R.S. 1985, c. C-42 )

2. You operate with no motive of gain.

For organizations that do not meet these conditions, beginning April 1, 2001, please forward document requests to one of the following:

We thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
