MIRAGE Help for MIRAGE mapping application & map image viewer
The MIRAGE web application uses JavaScript and this functionality must
be enabled in your browser of the application to function correctly.
You may enter one or more words in each of the search fields. These words
will be used to limit the search results. For a complete list of all the map
images, leave all the search fields empty and click on the Search button.
Zoom In |

This button lets you view part of the map in greater detail.
Instructions:
- Click the "Zoom In" button.
- When the "Zoom In" function is active, the icon will turn grey.
- Position the cursor over the part of the map you would like to see in greater detail.
- Click the mouse.
- Or you can also drag the cursor to draw a rectangle of the area you want to see in greater detail.
- The map will be redrawn to show more detail.

Zoom Out |

This button lets you view a larger area with less detail.
Instructions:
- Click the "Zoom Out" button.
- When the "Zoom Out" button is active, the icon will turn grey.
- Position the cursor over the part of the map you would like to see in lesser detail.
- Click the mouse.
- The map will be redrawn to show a larger area.

Full Extent |

This button lets you view the entire map.
Instructions:
- Click the "Full Extent" botton.
- The map will be redrawn to show the entire map.

Pan |
|
This button lets you move the map to show the area you would like to see.
Instructions:
- Click the "Pan" button.
- When the "Pan" button is active, the icon will turn grey.
- Position the cursor over the part of the map you would like to move to the centre of map display.
- Click the mouse.
- The map will be redrawn to show the new area.

Query (for mapping application) |

This button allows you to discover the available maps within a selected area.
Instructions:
- Click the "Query" button.
- When the "Query" button is active, the icon will turn grey.
- Position the cursor over the part of the map for which you would like to seek maps.
- Click the mouse. Selected map bounding boxes that contain the point will be highlighted in red and a list of selected maps will be displayed below the map. From this list you can either display the map or information about the map.
- Or you can also drag the cursor to draw a rectangle of the area you wish to query. Maps bounding boxes within this area will be highlighted in red and a list of these selected maps will be displayed below the map.

Pan (while viewing map image) |

The pan arrows, eight small triangles around the edges of the map, let you move left, right,
up, down and diagonally to see parts of the map that aren't currently visible.
Instructions:
- Click the arrow that points in the direction you would like the map display to move.
- The map will be redrawn to show the new area.
