Natural Hazards and Emergency Response Program Management

This information represents activities in the Earth Sciences Sector Programs (2002-2006). Please refer to Priorities for information on current Earth Sciences Sector Programs.

Leader: Bert Struik

This project provides the management infrastructure to realize the outcomes of the Natural Hazards and Emergency Response Program. The program includes; provision of geospatial information during national emergencies, improvements to monitoring and hazard modelling, natural hazard assessment, and development of geospatial data bases and tools to support disaster management and mitigation decisions; and priority access to satellite data.

The management infrastructure includes working with the Earth Science Sector Office, Director Generals and Directors to provide program and project tracking and guidance for success, interactive communication with the hazard and response community, and working with project leaders to realize the potential of their projects and the people involved.
