Aeronautical and Technical Services Division Our Vision
The Aeronautical and Technical Services Division :
- Provides a flexible and adaptable workforce that is responsive to the needs of Earth Sciences Sector programs and services
- Excels in fulfilling the Government of Canada’s cartographic imaging and printing requirements
Consistent with our "Vision", a better understanding of clients’ and stakeholders’ needs, our progress to date on earlier plans, lessons learned and our employees’ aspirations, we will pursue the following strategic initiatives :
- Leadership – ATS will :
- Build upon agreements with major stakeholders, including NAV CANADA, the Department of National Defence, Transport Canada and the US National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (military) to influence outcomes ;
- Explore new uses of geomatics and, Science and Technology in aviation in line with the government key issues ; revise program results and provide leadership direction ; and
- Share management decisions
- Human resources planning, development and involvement – We must :
- Provide a workplace of choice for skilled and motivated employees through the application of quality principles and Human Resources policies ; and
- Help current and newly hired employees develop the mobility, flexibility and multiple skills required for meeting changing client needs most efficiently
- Cartographic publishing adapted to a changing environment – ATS will work with Canada’s mapping agencies to adapt its Cartographic Imaging and Printing Services to major changes in : 1) client needs ; 2) map publishing technologies ; and 3) funding ; by :
- Adjusting its capacity to meet demand ; and
- Preparing its employees for new or changed duties ; while
- Economically maintaining the services needed ; and
- Moving to the evolving Earth Sciences Sector Service model
- Information technology – ATS will develop an Information Management/Information Technology (IM/IT) structure that :
- Optimizes the use of technology for line of business information systems ; and
- Provides cost-effective technology solutions that support Mapping Services Branch-Ottawa divisions and services, program managers and project leaders
- Aeronautical and Technical Strategic Leadership
- Quality Aeronautical Charts
- Quality Imaging and Printing
