Proactive disclosure Print version | Reference Services
The Earth Sciences Information Centre (ESIC) is designed to provide the earth science community with a single contact for their information needs by integrating the delivery of traditional library-based services with the development and marketing of new, technology-driven information products and services. The Reference Team specializes in answering questions ranging from referrals, fact finding and information gathering to designing complex online searches. If you require a literature search, complete the Information Request Form or call the Reference Desk: (613) 996-3919. Consult our Schedule of Fees and Payment Options for photocopies, document delivery and interlibrary loans. If you have a general earth science question, post your query to the Ask-a-geologist service. Please provide your comments and feedback through the Comments and Feedback form.
The Earth Sciences Information Centre Reference Service is committed to filling every request for information within three working days (or two working days for urgent service) provided that the information is available. However, if a reply takes longer than the stated time, we will explain the delay and let you know when to expect a response. Requests are processed during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday to Friday. There are associated fees for online searches. The purpose of the fees is to recover costs, to support a strong well developed collection, and to deliver services efficiently. Earth Sciences Sector Service Standards
