CBIP funding confirmed to
March 31, 2007

In July, 2006 the Commercial Building Incentive Program (CBIP) and the Industrial Building Incentive Program (IBIP) received funding approval for continued activities until March 31, 2007. This will serve as an interim measure until the Government of Canada introduces a new strategy for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring clean air, water, land and energy for Canadians.

CBIP has already received a high volume of submissions in recent months. To help ensure that we can process new submissions and prepare a Contribution Agreement before March 31, 2007, the program has decided to accept new submissions until December 1, 2006, or until funding is depleted, whichever comes first.

If you are planning to apply for CBIP or IBIP, we recommend you provide a complete submission as soon as possible.

CBIP staff will check all submitted documentation to verify that the submission is complete as noted in our submission checklist. Submissions will be queued for processing only when they are determined to be "complete" to program satisfaction, and will then be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you have questions, please contact the Account Manager for the province where the building will be located.
