CBIP Incentive for Retail Food Stores and Arenas

Retail food stores and arenas are now eligible for a Commercial Building Incentive Program (CBIP) incentive. The interaction between the building's environment and refrigeration equipment cannot be ignored in retail food stores and arenas. As a result, CBIP takes into account the impact of the refrigeration system on the building's performance when evaluating these two building types.

Retail food store and arena projects are eligible for CBIP if the building permit has been issued after April 1, 2001. EE Wizard software [This link opens a new window] will be used to show compliance to CBIP for retail food stores and arenas.

The Technical Guide Supplement for Retail Food Stores and the Technical Guide Supplement for Arenas provide information on how to use EE Wizard. The new Targeted Equipment Bonus (TEB) and regional incentives can sometimes be combined with CBIP funding.
