Abstract:

Objectives:
Provide information on tree species regeneration and vegetation development in the 5 years following harvest in the Turkey Lakes Tolerant Hardwood Research Project.

Location:
Sault Ste. Marie

Key Deliverables:
Report- ground disturbance resulting from various levels of harvesting intensity in a mature northern tolerant hardwood forest; Journal Articles - plant diversity in northern tolerant hardwood forest harvested at four intensities; effects of harvest intensity on regeneration; plant diversity and succession 5 years after harvest; and, environmental factors governing vegetation response to harvesting intensity in northern hardwood forest.
