Vehicle Pool Awareness Campaign

Natural Resources Canada is developing an awareness campaign to help divert some employee business travel from taxis and rentals to more fuel-efficient and lower-emitting fleet pool vehicles. Greater use of these vehicles will reduce travel costs and greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

E-10: Ethanol-Blended Fuels Awareness Campaign

On November 22, 2003, former Prime Minister Jean Chrétien announced that E-10 would have to be purchased for Government of Canada vehicles whenever available. The Federal Vehicles Initiative (FVI) promotes awareness of E-10 within the federal fleet and provides an up-to-date list of E-10 stations across Canada.

The federal fleet has about 26 000 vehicles, of which approximately 18 000 operate in areas where low-level ethanol-blended fuel is available.

The FVI has launched an awareness campaign to remind federal vehicle operators and fleet managers to use ethanol-blended fuels in federal vehicles where available.

A number of products to promote the campaign have been developed and were distributed to federal vehicle owners:
