Heritage Gas, Nova Scotia

Customers of Heritage Gas, Nova Scotia are eligible to receive up to $1,400 if they upgrade their home or small business heating system between April 1, 2004 and December 30, 2005 with ENERGY STAR® qualified high-efficiency natural gas equipment. The program is equally funded by the Province of Nova Scotia (through the Natural Gas Market Development Fund) and Natural Resources Canada, and is administered by Heritage Gas, the local natural gas distribution company. *Natural gas fireplaces (inserts and freestanding) must have a minimum fireplace efficiency of 60% as tested to the P.4.1-02 Canadian Standards Association test standard. Only fireplace installations completed in homes or businesses that do not have a central heating system will qualify (e.g., homes and businesses heated with electric baseboards). If a second fireplace is installed at the same premise the customer is entitled to an additional rebate of $400.

**Water heater must be a direct vented sealed combustion or power vented unit that meets the new Federally regulated minimum standard for gas fired water heaters (an EF greater than or equal to 0.67 - 0.0005V, where V = rated storage capacity in litres).

Maximum overall rebate per household/business is $1,400.
