Power Smart at School

Our Power Smart Students programs provide materials, tools, and support to B.C. teachers and students to educate tomorrow's generation about energy conservation, the environment, and electrical safety.

The programs explore issues of sustainability, stewardship and the environment, and provide opportunities for students to demonstrate leadership, teamwork and citizenship.

Grade 2

Grade 2 students become "energy detectives".

Grades 3-8

School Campaigns

This is a free, two-part workshop series for teachers and students. Students are encouraged to become energy detectives and discover hidden ways to save energy in their school. more>>

Grade 6

Electrical Safety Materials

BC Hydro electrical safety educational materials are automatically mailed to schools for use with grade six students. The materials include an interactive CD, teacher's aid, student worksheet, student activity books, student assignment books and safety puzzles. more>>

This two-year, technical work experience program develops practical knowledge and skills in energy conservation. more>>

Power Smart program activities and materials, and energy teaching modules satisfy many of the Prescribed Learning Outcomes listed in the BC Ministry of Education Integrated Resource Packages (IRPs).
