About the NRCan Libraries Network
Mission
The NRCan Libraries Network supports the mission of Natural Resources Canada through timely access to information. Through the use of technologies, partnerships, and staff expertise, we provide comprehensive and cost-effective services to our clients, while developing and preserving information collections relevant to the sustainable development of Canada's mineral, forest and energy resources, and landmass.
Purpose
The role of the Network is to review and prioritize NRCan library and information management issues while also aggressively identifying resource sharing opportunities.
Who we are
Sixteen libraries located across Canada, representing all sectors and regions. View articles from The Source.
Clients
NRCan employees including researchers and technicians, the Minister’s Office, Executive Offices, informatics, human resources, etc.
Outside clients such as other federal, provincial, academic and international libraries/information centers, industrial and research collaborators, visiting scientists, students, and the general public
Services
Services offered include reference, document delivery, circulation, interlibrary loans, etc.

Subject specialties
Collectively the Network libraries are an important national source of information resource for natural resources.
Each library has special collections on topics such as biodiversity, climate change, earth sciences, geomatics, maps, energy, entomology, environmental sciences, fire, forestry, geological sciences, metals, minerals, mines, pest control, physics and chemistry, physics, renewable energy, tree genetics.
