AeroD Website

AeroD Website makes Canadian digital aeronautical information available online through standard Internet browsers. AeroD contains a copy of the Canadian Aeronautical Charting System (CANAC) database, aeronautical publications and a selection of aeronautical charts. These charts and publications are available in a number of vector and raster formats including the popular and flexible Portable Document Format (PDF).

AeroD is a database fully indexed and accessible that not only contains the most current chart, publication, and database information, it also contains data from the previous and next version of the data. Next versions of the data are made available three weeks prior to its effective date. At this time, the AeroD is not available to the general public. Only government-clients can be granted access to the AeroD website.

Aeronautical Custom Digital Data Sets

The digital aeronautical data, derived from the CANAC database, are produced to meet our clients' requirements. The CANAC database allows clients to choose from over 40 entities to develop custom data sets to individual needs.  The data is maintained and updated on a 56-day cycle and is available by annual subscription.

Clients use the data supplied by the CANAC database for such activities as :

All agreement negotiations follows the “ESS Standard Operating Procedure – Development and Administration of Cooperation Agreements” or the standard Geomatics Canada Agreements.

Canadian Airport Charts
Implementation Date : 17 March 2005, previously Canada Airport Manoeuvring Surfaces (CAMS)

This product is a new on line digital document developed under contract by NAV CANADA. It is a product derived from a subset of pages found in the Canada Air Pilot (CAP) and the GPH 200 (Low and High Terminal Instrument Approach Procedures - military) containing aerodrome diagrams to assist general aviation pilots during aircraft ground movement operations at canadian airports.

Natural Resources Canada's attention was focused to meet NAV CANADA and the end user's requirements.  As many private pilots are familiar and comfortable using currently published paper products, an effort was made to retain the flexibility to print and bind the publication as a typical book.  Aeronautical Charting Program has incorporated this product into the suite of aeronautical products it maintains and produced for NAV CANADA. The Canadian Airport Charts production process follows that of other aeronautical products.

Restricted Canada Air Pilot (RCAP)
Implementation Date : 16 February 2006

The RCAP is an evolving aeronautical product, digitally produced and distributed on CD-ROM.  It contains navigational information for pilots that are authorized to take advantage of different operational parameters with specific airplanes, at numerous airports and heliports across the country.

For the 56-day aeronautical cycle beginning February 16, 2006, the RCAP contains procedures for 179 landing sites. Aeronautical Charting Program has incorporated this product into the suite of aeronautical products it maintains and produced for NAV CANADA. The RCAP production process follows that of other aeronautical products.
