Radiocarbon Dating
GSC data compared to the consensus values

The Geological Survey of Canada Radiocarbon Dating Laboratory ceased operation at the end of 2005. This site will be maintained to provide reference information on the samples dated during the 45 years of operation of the GSC laboratory from 1960 to 2005.

All GSC dates are within ± 2 sigma of the consensus values, and three-quarters of the finite GSC dates are less than 1 sigma from the consensus values and the non-finite dates are consistent with the consensus values.
