Ice-Core Expedition 2001
Daily Report - June 20th 2001

It is estimated that, by late tonight, the ice-core drill crew will have reached 160 metres. This is about three-quarters of the expected full distance. The pace is good, but it is still uncertain whether or not there will be enough time to get to the full 200-plus metres.

Local travel and sampling continues by the four ICE2001 members still occupying the lig mobile camp at King Col.

ICE2001 was the subject of a short item on the CBC National tonight. The CBC crew could not go as high as the drill camp at Prospector-Russell Col, but they did get some dramatic shots of the area, as if there are any other kind in this most spectacular of settings.
