View of Sheep Mountain from the other side of Kluane Lake at the Arctic Institute of North America's research station.

The temperature remains seasonable at Kluane , about -5º at night and +5ºC during the day, although a constant wind makes it seem cooler. The wind comes from the valley of the Slims River, which originates from glaciers, including the famous and much-photographed Kaskawulsh glacier.

The ICE2001 team continues its preparations.

For a short diversion, a few of the team visited the base of Sheep Mountain, which rises near the southern end of Kluane Lake. The Mountain is the site of popular hiking trails, which are currently marked closed due to grizzly bear danger.
