GSC Pacific (Sidney) Corporate structure
The Pacific Geoscience Centre (PGC) in Sidney, British Columbia, Canada,
houses staff of the Geological Survey of Canada
(GSC) Pacific Division. The GSC is a part of Natural Resources Canada,
the Canadian government department that specializes in energy, minerals and metals, forests and earth sciences.
GSC Pacific Division
is one of several Divisions in the Minerals and Regional Geoscience Branch of the GSC,
which falls under the Earth Sciences Sector
of Natural Resources Canada.
The Pacific Geoscience Centre occupies a campus with the Institute of
Ocean Sciences (Department of Fisheries and Oceans) with which it shares
facilities and services including the use of research vessels and equipment.
PGC comprises one wing of the multi-level complex located along Patricia
Bay, near Sidney, British Columbia.
