Historically, under the Forest Insect and Disease
Survey (FIDS) program, the Canadian Forest Service collected annual
pest condition information in the forest (Pest
Data for British Columbia). In 1996, the FIDS program was terminated
and this responsibility shifted to the provincial governments. Current
forest pest survey information is available through provincial forestry
websites
