Theme: Ecosystems

This information represents activities in the Earth Sciences Sector Programs (2002-2006). Please refer to Priorities for information on current Earth Sciences Sector Programs.

Ecosystems

Canada's land and coastal regions encompass a wide range of ecosystems: from temperate woodlands in southeast to barren lands in the north and at high altitudes, and from coastal rainforest in the West to prairie grasslands and eastern forests. Climate variability and change is exected to strongly affect the ways these ecosystems process carbon and water and how they respond to climate.
