Project: Paleo-environmental records of climate change
Sub-activity: Paleo-geographic and paleo-tidal modeling of Atlantic Canada

This information represents activities in the Earth Sciences Sector Programs (2002-2006). Please refer to Priorities for information on current Earth Sciences Sector Programs.

This research will provide a digital elevation model (DEM) of Atlantic Canada for use in a Department of Fisheries and Oceans tidal model, and will supply offshore glacial information and relative sea-level curves for the paleo-geographic time-slice contributions to the National Quaternary Paleo- environments Synthesis. Project scientists will create an improved DEM of Canada, land and sea, through the fusion of data from several sources and by merging onshore and offshore data to produce complete DEM of land and ocean areas around Canada for paleo-geographic modeling.
