In a time when victims of armed conflict are living in anguish and suffering, this monument, made of concrete, steel and granite, illustrates the harmony and equilibrium toward which nations and individuals should strive. A sphere represents the Earth, as well as the harmony to which humans aspire. It also recalls the dawn and the dusk. An elevated podium adds to the impression of tranquillity. Its texture resembles water, a natural element and symbol of life.
