Registered ISO 9001:1994 in 1997, the Quality Management System of the Aeronautical and Technical Services Division / Aeronautical Charting Program was re-assessed and has been upgraded in 2003 to the new international organization process model  ISO 9001:2000, where the objective is customers/stakeholders satisfaction.

The Aeronautical and Technical Services Division of Geomatics Canada-Mapping Services Branch, printer of Canada maps, is proud of this major achievement by its employees.

What is ISO 9001:2000? It is a demanding, internationally recognized standard which sets out requirements for 5 key elements of an organization's internal quality management system :

  • Management Responsibility
  • Resource Management
  • Product Realization, and
  • Measurement, Analysis and Improvement
  • Continuous improvement of the Quality Management System

Both internal and independent auditors regularly verify conformance with the ISO 9001:2000 standard to ensure that there are documented procedures for work affecting quality of products, that employees follow these procedures, and that there are records to prove it.

This achievement is a reflection of our team work and commitment to meeting your needs for reliable aeronautical information. We know how important quality aeronautical charts and publications are to you, and we take systematic and documented steps to understand your needs, to revise our charts and publications in accordance with authorized changes, and to prevent and correct problems.

These quality aeronautical charts and publications and your confidence in them contribute to the safety and efficiency of aviation in Canada. We offer our ISO 9001:2000 registration as tangible evidence of our commitment to quality and safety.  Please share in our pride, and continue relying on these quality aeronautical products.
