This project, active during 2003-2004, defined how to provide effective access to Earth Science Sector hazards knowledge, and how to integrate it with hazards knowledge from other sources. It developed ways to improve the delivery of custom maps to federal government emergency response agencies during emergency events. The year of study resulted in a project proposal to ensure ESS hazards knowledge leads to a reduction of losses from various natural hazards and improves emergency preparedness. Knowledge providers and users were asked about their knowledge integration and access needs, and were involved in the development of a joint implementation plan.
