To achieve its outcomes, NHER will work with various partners to develop national initiatives to manage and make accessible over the internet a wide range of natural hazard information. It will foster the further development of national working networks for hazard assessment and mitigation research and application. NHER will provide the fundamental infrastructure necessary for geological hazard information access and will provide a suite of knowledge on earthquake, landslide, tsunami, volcanic eruption and geomagnetic storms for mitigation and emergency response.

The program will explore activities in Canada that could develop systems with the potential to further integrate hazards research into loss reduction and disaster response preparedness decision making. Such systems include:
