GSC-Quebec and INRS-Eau, Terre et Environnement [water, earth and environment division of the Quebec institute for scientific research] together carried out a project to raise awareness of the natural and geological heritage of the Quebec City and Montreal areas.
Geoscape Québec and Geoscape Montréal were produced with the financial support of Étalez votre science, a scientific and technical literacy program of the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec [Quebec department of culture and communications] and the Geological Survey of Canada. We also want to point out the special collaboration of the Ministère des Ressources naturelles du Québec [Quebec department of natural resources] and the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Department of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

Geological Fieldtrip in the Quebec City Area
GSC-Quebec co-ordinated production of a geological tour presenting an overview of earth sciences through the landscapes of the Quebec City area. Through collaboration with the Parks Canada Field Unit, historical vignettes on Quebec City’s historic sites and fortifications were added. This activity was developed from a perspective of integrating subjects emphasized in the education reform.
This fieldtrip provides information that complements the Geoscape Québec poster and Web site. A PDF version
of the fieldtrip is available:
