The Privacy Act gives Canadian citizens, and all people living in Canada, the right to access information that is held about them by the federal government. The Act also protects against unauthorized disclosure of that personal information and controls how the government will collect, use, store, disclose and dispose of any personal information.
How to Make a Request
- Print and fill out the Personal Information Request Form in the related links below. You may also write a letter stating clearly that you are requesting information under the Privacy Act.

There is no charge to make a request under the Privacy Act.
