Science for Your World

If your idea of science is a white coat and a Bunsen burner, you seriously need to read the October issue of Natural Elements. In this issue, you’ll learn about the amazing and important work scientists from Natural Resources Canada (NRCan) are doing with industry and other partners to meet the real challenges of your world.

Natural Elements focuses on science and technology in this issue because October 13 to 22 is National Science and Technology Week. That’s the time when NRCan and other Government of Canada science departments bring fascinating science and technology activities to communities across the country.

You can also explore a technology developed by the Canadian Forest Service that helps identify and classify tiny forest insects using digital imagery. Find out about the award-winning Canadian Industry Program for Energy Conservation program, as well as how satellite imagery can show the changes in Canada over the years. There’s even a story about how NRCan is working with a Canadian university to develop the multisensory maps of the future.

Discover science in your world.
