Possible Funding Sources

In the spring of 2005‚ the Office of Energy Efficiency initiated a series of focus groups across the country to speak to municipalities and non–profit groups about how the Idle Free program could better benefit them. Most participants from non–profit organizations said their main challenge was lack of funding and resources. Since most of them spend such a great deal of time looking for funding‚ they suggested the Idle–Free Zone should provide this kind of information. So‚ below‚ IFZ has done just that: we’ve provided a chart containing some of the funding agencies across the country: some national‚ while others are broken down by region. The funding ranges from smaller foundations who may donate $500‚ to larger government departments who may donate up to $500‚000. While listing them in IFZ is no guarantee they will fund a given project‚ any group interested in running its own idle–free campaign is encouraged to approach these funding agencies with their proposals.
