The Monument to Canadian Aid Workers recognizes the humanitarian contribution of the individual as well as the collective. It honours Canada's commitment to international development and humanitarian aid abroad, and those who have risked their lives or died in the line of duty. It also serves as a tribute to two individuals, Nancy Malloy and Tim Stone, whose deaths inspired the project.
