Instrument Flight Rules Terminal Area Charts

The Instrument Flight Rules Terminal Area charts provide detailed low level aeronautical information in congested air traffic areas of selected major airports.

The charts depict radio navigational aids and information, the low level airway system, ILS (Instrument Landing System) localizer courses, special use airspace, communications stations and selected major aerodromes.


NOTE:
The information contained in the charts and publications are current only to the date of submission for printing. A NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) may amend or cancel the information on the aeronautical products, therefore the NOTAM must be consulted to ensure that current information is used for flight operations.

Terminal Area Charts

T1 -     Vancouver/Victoria, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Iceland, Azores.
T2 -     Thunder Bay, Windsor, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, Moncton, Halifax, Gander, Bermuda, Keflavik/Iceland.

Vertical coverage – Vertical coverage is from the surface up to, but not including 18,000′ ASL (above sea level) within the Canadian Domestic Airspace and that airspace over international waters and foreign territory in which Canada accepts responsibility for the provision of air traffic control services.

Iceland and Bermuda :  Airways and air routes extend to unlimited altitude

Santa Maria, Portugal Domestic Control Area : Up to 20,000′ ASL

Design criteria – International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Canadian standard specifications and Canadian users' requirements

Updating – The charts are printed back to back on one sheet and are revised every 56 days.

Projection – Lambert Conformal Conic
