BoatingBe dazzled by the magnificent scenery, quiet vistas and historic points along the scenic Ottawa River. To access the river, a public boat launch is located at Shirleys Bay landing. There is also a picnic area and an informal shoreline walking trail leading to a lookout on the Ottawa River.

Note that because of the shallow and rocky shoreline, this launch is suitable for small, shallow draught boats only. Parking P1 at the end of Range Road.

The world famous Rideau Canal passes through the Greenbelt. A lockstation at Black Rapids, operated by Parks Canada, offers parking (paid), a picnic area and washrooms. Parking on Prince of Wales Drive (Hwy 16).
