Sector III: Real Asset Management and Development

It begins with the land. The NCC is the single-largest property-owner in Canada’s Capital Region, with direct control, on behalf of all Canadians, of some 10 percent of all land in the area and holdings that include bridges, roads, buildings, parks and much more.

Objective

To manage, plan for and protect physical assets of national significance on behalf of future generations of Canadians as well as to enhance the rich cultural heritage and natural environment of the National Capital Region.

Products

Land and Buildings
A cohesive land base that contributes strongly to an expression of Canadian nationhood in the Capital region, including the official residences. Activities include maintenance, leasing, disposals and development.

The Green Capital
An urban community set in a framework of parks, parkways and unspoiled shorelines, the work of an organization that is the environmental steward, planner and manager of federal lands in the Capital region.
