A successful season of the NCC’s Sound and Light Show comes to an end.

Canada’s Capital Region - The National Capital Commission (NCC) wishes to remind residents and visitors that the current season of the Sound and Light Show on Parliament Hill draws to an end on Sunday, September 10, 2006.

There are still six more evenings for residents and visitors to take in the free nightly performances that are presented seven days a week at 9 pm and 10 pm (weather permitting). Bleacher seating will accommodate approximately 500 spectators.

For over 20 years, audiences have been captivated by the NCC’s Sound and Light shows. Particularly popular with out-of-town visitors, these free evening shows offer a unique portrait of our country and our capital.

The bilingual 30-minute show entitled Canada: the Spirit of a Country features spectacular lighting effects, giant images and a rich tapestry of words, music and sounds that tell the story of Canada.  This memorable show bathes the Parliament Buildings in lights and images, transporting the audience from coast to coast to coast to witness the growth of a nation.  According to the 2005 Sound and Light Visitor Survey conducted by Decima Research, 92 percent of the spectators to the show said they were very to extremely satisfied with the performance.
