Find out about the Dutch Royal Family’s refuge in Canada during World War II and the contribution of Canadian troops in the liberation of the Netherlands.
In gratitude, the Dutch people sent 100,000 tulip bulbs to Canada and another 20,000 added by the Dutch royal family. In a gesture of ongoing gratitude and friendship, the Netherlands continues to send 20,000 bulbs to Canada each year.
