Student Employment Opportunities GSC Student Assistance Program
The Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) Student Assistance Program provides
summer employment to full-time, post-secondary students specializing in
geology, geophysics, geochemistry, computer science and related disciplines.
The program is designed to provide students with organized assignments that:
- develop personal management and teamwork skills;
- develop occupational skills leading to employment after graduation;
- offer insights into future occupational opportunities; and
- provide post-secondary students a chance to use their academic knowledge in a work setting.
The program is open to full-time, post-secondary students who are enrolled
in one of the following programs:
- geology, physical geography, geochemistry, geophysics, geography,
engineering geology, hydrogeology, geodesy, geomatics, computer science,
remote sensing or a related discipline.
To be eligible, students must be planning to return to full-time studies
in the fall. In addition, students must pass a medical examination for
jobs involving field work.
