Codes and Standards Working GroupSafety standards are critical for both fuelling stations and for the fuel cell vehicles. This Working Group is therefore focussing its efforts on developing national and international acceptance of standards related to fuel cell systems and hydrogen systems including storage, fuelling station configurations and locations, and fuelling interfaces with fuel cell vehicles. The Group also wants to ensure that the standards are compatible with both federal and provincial/territorial regulations. To encourage public acceptance that these new technologies are safe and to assist local authorities, model bylaws and an installation guide are among the products being produced by this Group. The Working Group is also testing the safety equipment that would be available at fuelling stations and at indoor vehicle storage locations. Recognizing that training and certification is a provincial responsibility, the Codes and Standards Group is identifying personnel categories requiring certification.
