to the Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources Library

The Nova Scotia Department of Natural Resources Library is part of the Information Management Section of the Planning Secretariat. The Library serves Department of Natural Resources staff, provincial and federal government personnel, mining and forestry industries, prospectors, scientists, consultants, educators, students and the general public. The Library collects information resources to support DNR's mandate. Our collection covers the following fields: energy resources and utilization, forestry, geoscience, land use, mining engineering, wildlife and related topics. We hold a very specialized collection of geoscience information on Nova Scotia including maps, assessment reports, theses, journals, newsletters and government documents. Reference Service is provided to Department staff. Call, send a fax or email and we will try to answer your question on Natural Resources in Nova Scotia. Circulation, Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery: The Library is open to all members of the public from 8:30am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. Only departmental staff and other libraries may borrow materials. Library users, other than staff, may borrow items through interlibrary loan. Ask your public library, departmental or corporate library for more information on how to make an interlibrary loan or document delivery request. These services are provided free of charge. The NSDNR Library also sells and distributes publications and other products produced by the Department as well as Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) publications and maps on Nova Scotia. over 30,000 records. It includes records from NOVASCAN , the provincial
geoscience database for Nova Scotia.
