Graphics
Technician
Graphics Technicians at NRCan may be required to:
- Draw illustrations
and diagrams using graphics applications and/or by hand to represent
scientific and technical systems
- Scan and enhance
photographic images, design and combine text, graphics and illustrations
for presentations, pamphlets, posters, brochures, notices and calendars
for use inside and outside the organization.

Graphics
Designer
Graphics Designers at NRCan may be required to:
- Design and prepare
the layout of scientific and original artwork or technical design; scan
and enhance photographs and graphic art including electro mechanical
drawings or maps for scientific publications; technology transfer and
communications, including displays and visual aids for exhibits and
for internet web sites
- Prepare requests
for scanning, photographic and materials reproduction by outside service
providers; resolve technical problems with printing suppliers, show
others how to design and create graphic presentations
- Maintain a control
system for artwork, drawings and/or negatives and a filing system for
all completed or partially completed technical illustrations/drawings.

Graphics
Coordinator
Graphics Coordinators at NRCan may be required to:
- Plan, coordinate
and assign graphics projects to contractors; monitor deliverables; develop
and maintain a project control/archiving system
- Create a wide variety
of complex/scientific graphics materials such as illustrations, diagrams,
maps, publication covers, posters and brochures for publication and
the internet to meet client needs using a wide variety of graphics equipment/software
- Research, test
acceptability and recommend acquisition of graphics software packages
and systems; choose sources of information, methods, techniques, tools
and materials and develop innovative concepts and methodologies for
projects and to resolve technical problems.
