A/EODS Service Manager: Caroline Cloutier The Earth Observation Data Services (EODS) is a national service that provides Earth Observation data to Programs in the Earth Sciences Sector (ESS) of NRCan, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and Other Government Departments (OGDs), as well as to the Private Sector and other users. EODS's data reception, dissemination and archive access services are provided through CCRS's two satellite stations at Prince Albert and Gatineau, utilizing state-of-the-art Earth Observation archiving, processing and dissemination systems. The Satellite Acquisition Services (SAS) group at the Canada Centre for Remote Sensing (CCRS) in Ottawa provides the client interface for services to Government of Canada programs and to external clients. The ground segment infrastructure of EODS is capable of receiving data for North America. The ground stations receive Earth Observation data from several satellite sensors and maintain archives dating back to 1972. Data are made available to support near-real-time applications such as forest fire monitoring and mapping, natural hazards and ice monitoring, and also non-real-time applications such as sustainable development, including land use management and climate change.
