EnerGuide for New Houses Report
When you decide to upgrade your home using EnerGuide for New Houses advice, your builder works with a technical report from an independent EnerGuide for New Houses energy advisor.
Later, when the home is completed, the advisor prepares a revised homeowner's report for you. This updated report provides the following details:
- your home's EnerGuide rating and an explanation of the rating system
- a breakdown of the amount of energy used for space heating, lighting and appliances
- the estimated energy usage of the home for electricity, gas and/or oil for a typical family of four (assuming standard temperature, lighting, appliance and hot water usage)
- recommendations for maintaining the efficiency of the home and its major installed equipment
