More than 20 years ago, government researchers, new home builders and other industry partners began looking for a better way to build new homes. • Trained and licensed home builders. R-2000 quality involves more than technology – it extends to the professionals who build every R-2000 home. Across Canada, a network of new home builders have been specially trained and licensed to build homes that meet this high energy efficiency standard.
• Inspected and certified quality. A home that's certified to the R-2000 Standard must pass a series of independent inspections and energy efficiency tests – quality assurance that no other homes offer. And this quality is guaranteed – your proof is the R-2000 certificate. If the home isn't certified, it isn't R-2000.
