Mackenzie King Estate RuinsWhat Is Mackenzie King Estate?

Mackenzie King Estate is 231 hectares of landscaped green space in the heart of Gatineau Park. For close to fifty years, the Estate was the summer residence and haven of William Lyon Mackenzie King, Canada's 10th prime minister. When he died, Mackenzie King bequeathed this wooded area to Canada. Here, visitors can wander the trails that link the Estate to the recreational pathways of the rest of Gatineau Park.

Restored chalets, romantic gardens and a picturesque collection of ruins all laid out by King await your visit. Live part of Canada's history as it was at the time of this former prime minister, with the help of interpreter-guides, audiovisual presentations and interpretation panels.
